Hot Dip Galvanizing

Hot dip galvanizing is the process of coating iron or steel with a layer of zinc by immersing the metal in a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of around 450 °C (842 °F). When exposed to the atmosphere, pure zinc reacts with oxygen to from zinc oxide, which further reacts with carbon dioxide to form zinc carbonate, a dull Greg, fairly strong material that stops further corrosion in many circumstance, protecting the steel below from the elements Galvanized steel is widely used in applications where rust resistance is needed and can be identified by the crystallization patterning on the surface.

After shot blasting a 7 tank process is involved: Pickling tank, rising tank, Pre Flux Solution, Drying Furnace, Zinc Bath, Quenching Tank, Cooling and inspection as per IS 2629/4759.
